CHALLENGE 1

Think you're up for this challenge?

Duplicate the look of the poster Ms. Noll designed (see below) using nothing but what Publisher has to offer (NO google images). You will receive extra credit!

You have the choice of working on the challenge or continuing to work on your logo & poster; or magazine (if you are in the 11:45am class).

HINTS:

  • I did not use WordArt, only text boxes.
  • I created the purple border first using two types of shape tools.
  • Then I added the purple box on top of that using shapes and filling it with a gradient.
  • You may use different colors, but the layout must look very similar.
  • For the photo, use "Insert" > "Picture" and look for "Libraries" then "Pictures".
This is how I created the drop shadow effect in the title:
  • I created one text box with white text.
  • Then I copied and pasted that text box and changed the text to red and moved it into position.

CHALLENGE 2

HINTS
I created the background by going to the Page Design, then Background, then more backgrounds. I used red and yellow. The rest is up to you.

The photo should be in your Pictures Library on your computer.

I added a shadow effect to the title "Flower Sale".

I created the logo using a shape and two text boxes. Then I grouped them.

The rest of the text is Aharoni, but the numbers are very small compared to the text, so I had to do something to make them look like the same height in the address.

Notice that Jackson's Flowers and the address are the same width on the page.

The name of the store, the address, phone and website are just ONE block of text. How did I get them to align differently?

7th - Business Cards

Learning Target
I can modify templates in Publisher to create my own business cards.

What are some of the elements you would find on a business card?
